Springbrook National Park to Brisbane
This week we had some more nights of houses to stay in the mountains for a few more days.
Twin Falls
After a quiet night, we checked Twin Falls on the recommendation of an early place in the morning. It was a steep climb to the waterfall, through caves and behind the cataracts. I thought we would be the only ones there. It turns out that everyone knew it and the place was full of tourists and families. I can see why this place is so popular although it is beautiful! We quickly started a crazy photo after I told Emma to climb in a rock for a photo with the waterfall behind. People began to queue to get their own photos!

Lamington National Park
It was a bit skeptical when traveling to Lamington National Park. While the crow flies, he was only on the other side of the valley from Springbrook, but the trip would take about two hours. Lonely Planet warned on the road and, on Google Maps, the amount of curves almost discouraged me. We decided to try the impulse and, although it was narrow and very tight, it was not too steep. No problem for the old Max.We arrived with less than two hours of light, but that did not prevent us from parking and aiming in search of Moran Falls. I knew it was about 4 km, but I couldn’t remember if that was a form or return. The tropical jungle was already getting dark, but, luckily, the walk was only 2 km! While we saw the first look of the water that fell hundreds of meters in the valley, an rainbow appeared directly through water. We arrived at the second visualization point in a very short time and we had to fly the drone since the waterfall could not be seen. While flying, apparently with nothing around, the avoidance of my drone’s obstacles went crazy in a moment. The next day I discovered that there were electricity cables that crossed the valley exactly where it was flying. I have no idea how I didn’t bloc! Maybe I should get insurance.
He had seen a photo of Moran Falls where who took it was basically on top of the waterfall. Finally, we found a cut through the fence where we could stop on the edge. Sometimes you just have to take risks and jump through slippery rocks to get the best photos!
The next morning, we had a quick walk through O’Reilly’s. This is a complex that has been in the O’Reilly family for three generations. Near there was a walk of the age copy that involved climbing two games of stairs to get 30 meters in a tree. Emma happened but I thought it would be interesting. The view from the right at the top was great, but it was too suction and crispy to have too long left.

Mountain drum
We had heard good things about drumming Mountain, so that was the next one on our journey through the interior. Actually, there were some different villages, but Eagle Heights was the main one. The highlights were Kitsch stores, including one in a castle (wood) and one that sold everything that is German. A little out of the ordinary for Australia! You would come here if you wanted to buy a grandfather clock or a sugar candy.

Back to the golden coast
On our way back to Burleight Heads for our house, we take a look at surfer paradise. This is the main tourist city of Gold Coast. At first, my impressions were good. He felt like the Christmas complex we were looking for; cheap beer and a good beach. That changed quickly as a guy who sells bar bars for at least half an hour.
The rhythm is definitely established while heading along the coast to Miami and Burleight. I would prefer to be out of the surfers safely. The most prominent aspects of our last days in Gold Coast were a trip to Wet N Wild and learn to surf.I have not been in an aquatic park since I lived in Cyprus. Watermania was (and I suppose it is still) in orange plantations and I have many great memories from there. I hoped that the magic of an aquatic park would remain the same as an adult. I also wanted to go to Wet N Wild as Splash Planet at Inbetweener 2 was filmed here. [easy-image-collage id=1701]We had lost Queensland’s school holidays, so the park was not as busy as it could have been. I managed to get on each trip and even Emma achieved all but two. It was amazing and as fun as when I was a child. The only strange part was having to queue for the walks through myself. At 3 pm, we were both exhausted, so we headed to Miami for sunset and hamburgers.
On our last day, I marked learning to navigate out of my desire list. Not only did I learn to surf, but I learned to surf at Gold Coast, which, apparently, is one of the best places to surf the world. Once we got into the water, the waves looked bigger than me. It was only later, when I look at the photos, how little they look! It didn’t take me too long to stop, but it was really difficult. Much more difficult than I thought it would be, but I loved it! I can see why so many people surf here. The only inconvenience was that I forgot to put the sun cream, which meant that my face was like a beet during the next few days.[easy-image-collage id=1702]
Go ahead to Brisbane
Just an hour away, we made the trip to Brisbane on Sunday morning, I wasn’t sure what to do. We park near the river to be able to take the free boat to the center and do some tourism at the same time. Brisbane was lovely and even had an artificial beach and pool with a view to the horizon! We really just spent one day looking around the city, since we prefer places with much fewer people.[easy-image-collage id=1703]Next week we will create family portraits with Koalas, visiting the mountains of the greenhouse and having beach days in Noosa.
