Port Stephens A Buladelah

We don’t get too far this week after starting Port Stephens on Tuesday. We were aware that it was Easter weekend, so all camps would be full and the roads would be full. Unfortunately, we don’t go too far, but we heard that Buladelah was a good stop. The plan was to see Easter before continuing again. We stopped at Jimmy’s Beach to look back in Port Stephens to see if we could detect a dolphin. Of course, we didn’t see any, but the sand was magnificently white and squeezed under our feet. Our first night back on the road was spent in the National Park just behind the sand dunes. This was a remote camp without electricity or available water, so it was a good job that we were prepared. We went on to talk with our neighbor to spend the night and ending sitting around a fire drinking until 11 pm did not expect it, but we saw our first wild dny, circling directly through the camp at night. He probably came to look for food twice. After too much vodka, our early beginning was not exactly planned, but we managed to leave at 9:30 am and, most importantly, before the Ranger arrived. Once we arrive at Buladelah (after a ferry crossing and another dirt road), we changed the free camp for three nights at the Bowling Club. For $ 10 for three nights, you can’t make mistakes. We met two other couples who are of Western Australia and were originally from Blackpool and Burnley. It’s not great to be a Preston North End fan! While the camp was cheap, it was Easter, so we treated ourselves to meals and many drinks. We all got into bowls too (mainly for drinking), so we stayed another three nights! Unfortunately, men were not too good in the bowls, so we ended up losing the 2-1 tournament. The only trip we managed to fit was to see the tallest tree of New South Wales. Exciting. We continue to choose things to make them imply too many kilometers in gravel roads that should be only for 4×4. The tree turned out to be huge, but it didn’t take us for a long time to return to the truck traveling back. I promise that the publication next week will be more exciting.
