The best places to drink in Newtown, Sydney

[ad_1]

If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I love a good pub and some beers. Recently I spent time in my favorite of the Sydney suburbs, Newtown, and wanted to shed some light on where I should visit. If you have not heard of Newtown, you definitely need to visit as soon as possible. It is not entirely Fitzroy in Melbourne, but it approaches! Whether it is ready for a drunk session throughout the day or a night of refrigerated appointment, there is something for everyone and anyone. While I have no doubt that over time there will be more new and possibly better establishments, but these are my thoughts about the best places to drink in Newtown, Sydney.

Ah, and if you are looking for more great things to do in Sydney, look at my full guide here and read my thoughts about the Bondi a Coogee Beach Walk here!

The best places to drink in Newtown, Sydney

The Bank Hotel

The bank is probably the establishment of more famous beverage and food in Newtown. The food is fantastic, but you have come here for drinks. The first bar in which it will enter has all the beer, liquors and wine you could desire. Leaving the back there is another bar, uncle Hops, for those who love craft beer before it opens in a huge beer garden. This is the beer garden that you have been looking for and definitely one of the best places to drink in Newtown.

Young Henryys

This is possibly my favorite place to drink a drink in Australia so far. I am a fan of a drink in a brewery and the young Henryys is all I ask. You will have seen Henry’s young beers in all Newtown (I even found him in Byron Bay) but nothing approaches to look like ‘Newtowner’ in this ultra great environment. Young Henryys will require that you walk the back streets and what seems to be a standard -looking warehouse. Once inside, the huge letters that delight beer and avant -garde works of art that hang on the walls. If you like the work of art, you can always buy it there and then.

Once you have chosen your poison, take a seat on the long communal tables and relax all afternoon. If you can’t choose, try a tasting palette where you get around five different drinks, including cider. I’m afraid I didn’t take any photo with my camera here, so you will have to trust me; It is a great place.

Court hotel

According to Time Out, The Courty has one of the best beer gardens throughout Sydney. I have not been everywhere in Sydney, but that is a great statement. While you enter the pub, you will certainly think you are in the wrong place. This is an adequate Australian pub, but once it is outside, it will be surrounded by fairy lights and vegetation. We went during the day, so I didn’t have the full effect, but I really enjoyed this place. Sydney is such a large city built, so it is good to find a relatively quiet place to have a drink.

Webster bar

In the corner in front of the bank, there is the three floors of Webster’s Bar. If you like whiskey, go to the first floor, otherwise the stairs go up to the roof bar. The perfect place for drinks at sunset.

Newtown Hotel

Last but not least, it is the Newtown Hotel. Australia is full of truthful that stand out in the streets, but they are often not accustomed to their maximum potential. This is where the Newtown Hotel enters. The balcony is the perfect place to see the world pass and you will love the inside above. A room has been designed as if you were in a vintage caravan!

Is it thirsty?

Do not look for the leafy neighbor of Newtown, Erskineville. I would recommend the Erko (great smoke), the Australia rose (Try Carlton’s tank beer) and, despite all things, drag, Imperial.

Hopefully this article inspires him to see this area the next time he visits Sydney and, perhaps, he will agree with me that these are certainly the best places to drink in Newtown.
