I love Greece and its many islands. There’s something about the weather, the beaches, the locals, and the food that keeps me coming back for more. I’ve visited Kefalonia, Rhodes and Zakynthos before, and last year I was able to spend two weeks in Crete. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands with many blue flag beaches and unspoiled mountain landscapes. The sunsets were some of the most colorful I have ever seen. I even got to see the Milky Way for the first time! We were based in a private villa just outside Platanias, on the northwest side of the island. This allowed for numerous explorations that focused mainly on the west side of Crete. Hopefully, the following photos will inspire you to visit Crete on your next vacation. Whether you simply want to relax on the beach or sip a cocktail overlooking a Venetian harbor; They won’t let you down.
