Two months with the Fujifilm 35 mm f/2

[ad_1]

I’m going out and say it. No love This lens. How honest is that? I have spent more than two months with the Fujifilm 35 mm f/2 and I am finally ready to share my thoughts.

*If you are looking for an adequate and detailed review, you will not find it here. Instead, I will only be wandering along with some example shots that should help you decide. For better review and some incredible photos, Jonas Rask It’s your man.

My Fujifilm 35 mm lens review f/2

Let’s start with the basics. As you probably know, Fujifilm offers two 35 mm lenses; The oldest f/1.4 version and is a more modern, younger F/2 brother (*2022, now there are four lenses on offer!). It is said that the f/1.4 lens is absolutely magical. From what I have seen (it is not that I used it), the images it produces are fantastic. However, the most common complaints are slow to focus, noisy and not climate resistant. Enter the fujifilm lens 35 mm f/2; More elegant, faster, silent and climate resistant. It is also much cheaper. Anyone in their healthy judgment would surely choose the newest lens.

A 35 mm lens in the Fujifilm cultivation sensor is equivalent to 53 mm. This is considered he standard focal distance; Not too wide, not too long, fair. It is not called Nifty Fifty for anything. In the past, this was my favorite focal distance. In my first trips to Budapest and Prague, all I had was a Nikon D5000 and a 35 mm lens f/1.8. I had no complaints. It was the perfect length to travel. When I made the change to Fujifilm, my travel kit consisted of nothing between 23 mm and 55 mm. This was the lens that I know I have always lost myself, but apparently I never hurried to buy. Until now.

After having had two months with the Fujifilm 35 mm f/2, unfortunately I cannot say that I have fallen in love with the lens. Because? I have no idea. It doesn’t dislike everything. I like it, of course. It does everything as expected, it is light, super sharp, silent, fast to concentrate and you can shoot in all types of weather. It is perfect for traveling, it covers the streets very well and ideal for portraits. But something is missing.

All I can think about is that I have read so much about F/1.4 that I hope each image turns me. I should probably fly, but it seems to me that the lens too ‘clinical’. Some will not find this bad at all, but maybe I shouldn’t have bought this lens along with the 16 mm f/1.4 stellar or maybe he should have bought his older brother.

I used the lens a little on a recent trip to Florida, so most of the photos will be from Disneyworld, so sorry. Looking back in the photos while writing this publication, although I feel that it could have been a bit hard in this lens. One thing that I have certainly noticed, which is a great point is the sharp that is open AF/2. If you have 23 mm f/2, you will know that it is quite soft and does not reach its optimal point until it begins to give up.

He returns to me in another two months and could have changed his mind. Let me know what you think of the comments below!

Update – I bought 35 mm f/1.4 and my God, it’s all I have been looking for

So far I have fallen in love with Fujifilm 35 mm f/1.4, I do not regret trade with the Fujifilm 35 mm f/2 for it. My review is linked below and you must definitely read that also to help you decide. While I write this, in July 2022, it was surely too hard with poor Fujifilm 35 mm f/2 and if it were made of money, I could definitely see space in my camera bag for both, now I have a baby and I would appreciate much faster a much faster approach approach, something more reliable and only such a discreet lens when the streets. Maybe, just maybe, this will end in my camera bag too.
