A beer lovers guide at the east coast of Australia

[ad_1]

In the course of three months, I made my way through the very transborded east coast of Australia stopping at almost all points of view, beach and, most importantly, in each pub. Now that it could be a slight exaggeration but, with the heat of the Australian sun combined with living outside a small truck, a good cold beer can do wonders for you. While you can make a trip along the east coast in two weeks, I recommend slowing down. Even with three months to explore this region, I still felt that I was hurried and left me wanting to see more! Now, to help plan your trip or even just to give beer lovers everywhere a serious travel inspiration, I have planned the best pub tracking. Stretching from Sydney to Port Douglas, a trip of more than 2,400 kilometers, this is the true guide of beer lovers to the east coast of Australia.

The beer in Australia has prospered for hundreds of years and I can honestly say that I never saw a can of fosters in all my time there. An Anti -Didkenness policy in 1800 actually promoted beer a good alternative to rum and, since then, Australia has not looked back. There are so many unique brewers in Australia that they produce an excellent beer, especially along the east coast. Even if you fail to try any of the places on this list, it is almost guaranteed to find an equally so good place wherever it ends.

Where to find the best beer on the east coast of Australia

Young Henryys – Sydney

This level 99 Pub tracking begins in one of the most emblematic cities in Australia, Sydney. Just four kilometers from the center is the most modern suburb of Sydney in Newtown and one of my favorite places for artisanal beer. Problems of an idea to prepare beer from which the local community would be proud, Young Henryys is a brewery located in an industrial unit not far from the main drag of Newtown bars. The beer here is as fresh as it comes; Directly from the tank and its glass. The walls are covered with extravagant works of art (which can buy) and the rules are simple: there are no bare feet, legs and optional arms and no cocks. My type of place. This is a very popular location for a young crowd; The type of people who love a good afternoon session with very good beer followed by a bite of one of the regular food trucks that are parked in front of the warehouse. Ah, and dogs are allowed.

In terms of beer itself, I almost immediately settled in natural beer, but I regularly went to the Newtowner. Natural beer is a bit like rondeja; It is exactly what he says is. This beer cannot be more natural with only the four key ingredients of hops, malt, water and yeast. It is not even filtered. The Newtowner is a beer that you can find in good pubs in Australia and, every time I took that first sip, my mind would return to this industrial unit in the secondary streets of Newtown. This is a unique Australian pale and, with all honesty, I miss it a lot.

The young Henryys is open from 12 to 7 pm, seven days a week, and it is so good that you may not want to start the east coast. If you end up doing a full day, there are more bars in Newtown!

Foghorn Brewhouse – Newcastle

A short two -hour trip through the M1 takes him to the hunter region of New South Wales. You will undoubtedly be looking for the northern angel while passing posters for Wallsend, Hexham, Jesmond and Stockton. While Newcastle in Australia has an industrial side, there are few similarities with the English city. If only the northeast of England had beaches so well.

In a warehouse sprayed inside the CBD, Foghorn Brewhouse offers hundreds of happy beer lovers. In the context of the huge tanks, you cannot be wrong with the popular summer beer or the Pilsner pivo.

Byron Bay Brewery – Byron Bay

It is a long trip to Byron Bay, almost seven hours, so he will be thirsty for a sparkling (is it Australian?) Once he arrives. Byron Bay is one of the best places to visit along the east coast. When I visited in April 2018, there were few backpacks and much less hippies than I imagined, although it retained its relaxed and quiet atmosphere. There are many places for a good drink here, including the Beach hotel and the Balcony Bar, but, since this is beer, you will want to go to the Byron Bay brewery.

I was excited by this. About twenty minutes from the city, this brewery is completed with palm trees and string lighting that gives that real subtropical sensation. Unfortunately for me, I was not intelligent enough to verify the opening schedules and visited a Tuesday. So, if you don’t want to end up disappointed, the brewery is only open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 pm to afternoon. However, I have tried the pale in another place and I strongly recommend it.

If you are in humor for more, go to the stone and wood brewery, which is also a short distance by car from the city.

Burleight Brewing CO – Burleight Heads

The second brewery on this list that I did not have the opportunity to go, but I wanted to have done it! We make a house in Burleight Heads for a few days, but unfortunately we couldn’t find time for this before we moved above on the coast.

This Taphouse ozuma great and seems the perfect place to spend an Australian-Favorite Domingo session. I can’t answer for beers, I don’t fear, but the tide at the middle of Burleight would be my beer of choice. Described as ‘sessionable’ and reaching only 3%, I imagine that you could drink this all day. I have visions of friends, warm weather and pastel pink.

It only opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (Thursdays are for special events), make sure your visit to Gold Coast is linked to the weekend!

The Great Western Hotel – Rockhampton

Well, this is where it becomes really interesting. Rockhampton is a long road north of Burleight Heads and Gold Coast. The city extends to Horcajadas on the Tropic of Capricorn, which means that this is officially the beginning of the tropics; Perfect climate at the dry season, but there are also salt water crocodiles.

Rockhampton has to do with cattle. For me, there was nothing better for a great steak and a beer. Combined with Rodeo (Wednesday and Friday) in the Great Western Hotel This is really a unique experience. The best thing is also that beer is prepared especially for this pub, which means that there is no other place on Earth to try it!

Townsville Brewery – Townsville

I ran into Townsville Brewery after a very hot and dry day that explored the best street art of Townsville. He does not look at a brewery from the outside since he is located within the impressive General Post Office. The architecture is excellent and the perfect beer for a hot afternoon. There is a small beer garden outside and, although it is right next to a busy road, you will still enjoy relaxing here. You will find pokes and pokies here, but don’t let that be discouraged. It is still a long way to the end of this trip.

Hemingway’s Brewery – Port Douglas

Will you choose the prospector or pitchfork Betty? A Pilsner inspired by James Mulligan, whose gold discovery in the Palmer River led to the formation of Port Douglas, or a Pale Ale inspired by a woman who defended a local embroidery with her trusted pitchfork. The stories behind each beer are almost as good as beers. I think the key to softness is Mossman Gorge’s clear water.

This microcersería has an incredible location; Right in the port of superyates surrounded by palm trees. You probably can’t be more tropical than this. Since you have come so far, it would not blame you for trying all the beers offered.

You have succeeded. You have reached the end of the Ultimate Pub Crawl. Not as much as an afternoon session as a rite of initiation that could take several months. While this is not any official trip with a certificate at the end, if you get to all these places for a beer, you will receive internal satisfaction that you have experienced some of the best Australian beers. Not only that, the trip itself may have taught you some things about life or yourself. One thing is surely that I will never be satisfied with a simple afternoon session.

Give me thousands of kilometers, hundreds of hours, sun, good melodies and soft and cold beer and I will be the happiest man alive.

Get me if you have been able to try any of the places on the list. Demons, if you manage to do all this, I would also love to put your thoughts in this publication!
