More than 15 excellent places to eat in Newcastle

[ad_1]

Would you be surprised if I said that Newcastle had a prosperous food scene that attracts hungry visitors not only northeast but of the whole country? Well, I’m here to guide you through the best places to eat in Newcastle to make sure you’re well fed.

Now I have lived in the Northeast for more than six years, so I have become accustomed to the greatness offered in this area often shattered in the country. Newcastle is a city that should be at the top of all visitors to the England list. It is a city that is somehow overlooked; Visitors seem to stop in York or go on their way to Edinburgh. If you are lucky to visit Newcastle, you can expect to find an impressive Georgian architecture, a cozy atmosphere, great and alternative suburbs along a prosperous food scene.

This is my guide not only for the best restaurants, but also the best places to eat in Newcastle in general, since, honestly, you can find a lot of good food in Victorian markets and shipping container land. There are places for romantic dating nights, meetings with friends and family and relaxed informal lunches. There is literally something for everyone on this list.

If you also want to know where to find great coffee and a brunch, go here to get the best coffees in Newcastle and, for hamburger lovers, this is where to find the best hamburgers in the northeast.

Of course, there are many, many excellent restaurants and places to eat in Newcastle and I know that I have lost some on my list below. Any advice or recommendation would also be much appreciated since your favorite can soon become my new favorite!

Where to eat in Newcastle

Chile Padi

In a building without pretensions in Leazes Park Road, you will find Chilli Padi; A restaurant dedicated to bringing authentic food from Malaysia to Newcastle. This is not just a meal to carry, go inside and there is a large seat area from which you will enjoy the best Asian food in the entire city. A dish that has recently entered a somewhat legendary status and must be ordered is the smoked (crispy) chicken of the chef’s special collection. Absolutely unreal! Chicken Rendang is also delicious.

Thai Casa Café

Newcastle’s most authentic Thai restaurant, if not the northeast. This is a discreet place, Byob, with a delicious food that will carry it almost immediately to the streets of Bangkok and the mountains of Chiang Mai. If you are looking for Thai food, do not hesitate and go directly to the Café of the Thai house; It will not disappoint you.

Grainger market

Drawed from 1835, the historical alleys of the Grainger market have some of my favorite places to eat in Newcastle; All within this beautiful Victorian institution. My recommendations are Snackwalh For the vegan food of Indian Street (the Samosa Chaat is unreal), DUMPLING & BUN (steamed meatballs and bao buns), Cubans (Cuban street food) and Fed’s Fried Chickn Shop.

Shout for pizza

We are going to follow Quaysis of Newcastle because he shouted for the pizza and his huge slices of NY -style pizza. In fact, I am dreaming of Frankie’s slice with Pepperoni, Mozzarella, jalapeños, red onion, honey and basil, if you really are hungry and there are some of you, you can even ask for pizzas as great as 20 inches! From Monday to Thursday, between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm, you can take a portion and a drink for only £ 5, which makes it an excellent place to enjoy its brief postponement of your work. Ah, and it is imperative to take a picture of its fresh portion with the Tyne bridge in the background!

Khai Khai

A new addition of 2021 to Newcastle Indian food offers of the incredible Dabbawal owners. This is Newcastle’s response to Disrhoom in a beautiful building in Queen Street. It is said that the rules are simple in Khai Khai with legendary dishes prepared on embers and wooden fires on a Josper grill or in a tandoor oven. The chef here is proud to cook with flames. As such, the flavors here have no rival, but I regret to say that I can never escape with chicken with butter (one of the most popular dishes: a basic element of the restaurant week); It is simply not for me! However, Tikka smoked chicken inside the curry was crazy and the Bhajis of onion and Samphire are lovely. I can’t wait to try again the Roganjosh Kashmir lamb. The great statement of Khai Khai’s fame is that Gordon Ramsay ate here and loved the old Delhi butter chicken that describes his food as “f ** delicious king.”

Dabbawal

I dare to say it, but I prefer Dabbawal to Khai Khai, perhaps more for casual vibrations and india street food offers. You can find Dabbawal at High Bridge, in Jesmond or Hwkrland. We have been visiting Dabbawal regularly in recent years, finally for a cold birthday lunch, and we never feel disappointed. I love the bombay bomb (literally explodes in your mouth), Vada Pao (Bombay Burger of Spiced Potato) and Paneer Makhani Masala. Everyone, from what I can imagine, very authentic, but I can certainly say that everything knows incredible!

Leave me alone, Lisa

The team behind our next post, Pablo Eggs-Go-Bao, recently opened a night place focused on many tequila (Margeritas are the special house) and informal dinners. You will find Big Mac Baos, freshly made and toast spicy. Many come here only for drinks, but you would also miss it if you didn’t take a bite to eat too!

Pablo Eguvos-Go-Bao

What you need after a summer night in Leave Me Alone, Lisa is the most incredible breakfast of Bao from the same place only earlier in the day. Salachicha sausage, eggs, brown hash, cheese and sriracha sauce, all tight in the most beautiful Bao bun in history. This is as good as you have heard and you can even treat your little doggo to a sausage empanada too.

Miso

Miso, a relatively recent addition to the ultra-cool Ouseburn suburb, miso is a small space in an old warehouse that offers high quality Japanese food. Wait for 10 -hour chicken bone broths, Yakitori meats cooked on coal and giozas. My choice dishes are the click of Pork Chashu and the pork bacon skewers. If you stay late, I love a party with DJs regularly playing!

Scranner arms

Twice consecutive winners of the prestigious battle of the hamburger in Wylam Brewery, Scanner’s Arms has broken into the scene with some of the best hamburgers in the northeast. I was impressed by the battle of the entrance of burgers of 2022, it was so good, so Scranner’s arms made him reach this list. I need to visit his home in the arms of Tanner in Ouseburn, where you can find many hamburgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, many vegan and vegetarian options along with some “chip things” struck; Byker Fried Chickn Fries I’m looking at you specifically.

Kitchen house

This is an adequate local jewel. Cook House is a beautiful industrial -style restaurant in Ouseburn with a Deli, Terrace and Garden owned by the chef and food writer Anna Hedworth. The menus regularly change with the stations and products of that day, but they expect brunch, with farola of the house, fruits, yogurt and honey sandwiches and bacon with ketchup of the kitchen house, and dinner with tempura coliflower with coconut coconut sauce and cheek of beet with beet and a beast of wild garlic and walnut. This is food at another level. Congratulations are also in order since Cook House has just been added to the good food guide from 2023 and now the Michelin guide!

Hwkrland

The street food shipping container park under the Tyne bridge, part of By the River Brew, has reinvented itself as Hwkrland. While the Tyne bridge undergoes what is expected to be four years (!) Of repairs, Hwkrland remains open with a roof and heating throughout the fun year. Only Friday open to Sundays, this is the place to hang out, take cocktails and paint and take food from so many local heroes; Acroprolis, Parm-O-Rama, Dabbawal, Meatstack, Circo and Smoke & Sear are here! It is also a type of inclusive place with children and dogs welcome; I have always loved.

SQUARE

Detroit style pizza served in divine square slices. Cheesy, crispy with crazy ingredients; This could be my favorite pizza in Newcastle and certainly one of my favorite places to eat in Newcastle. I love the collaboration between square jeans and Lola, Clancy Wiggum, with broken hamburgers, American cheese sauce, red onion jam, smoked bacon, barbecue sauce Tennessee, Baconise and bacon are exhausted as ingredients. Yes, all of them. I also love the Chicky Chicky Parm Parm with slow red sauce, fried chicken, beaten ricotta flowers, organization bread, shave Parmesan, garlic ranch and fresh basil. The slices cost around £ 4.95 or you can get the damn cake from Cursed for about £ 25!

The little canteen

The name refers to the size of this place in a flat roof block in Sandyford. There is only space for 15 in the small canteen that is incredibly intimate and there are only a few things in the slate menu that changes so often as daily. This is a place with the feet on the ground with delicious gourmet dishes and definitely one of the most surprising restaurants in Newcastle.

Smoke and sear kitchen

Finally, but in no way is the Smoke & Sear kitchen in Heaton Road (although there are now in Hwkrland). This could also have been added to my list of the best coffees in Newcastle, since it makes coffee and lovely lunches, but so Smoke & Sear are practically famous are their meat offers. The steak and eggs are still popular for a good reason!
