One of the largest cities in the United Kingdom, will find that Leeds is a perfect destination for a weekend away, either for a romantic visit with their partner, beers with friends or To spend quality time with the family. Here you will find my best things to do in Leeds!
LEEDS is often known as the unofficial capital of Yorkshire. It is certainly the largest city in the regions and is perfect for a weekend break for almost all. He was a regular visitor to Leeds while living in York, he often jumped on a train for some beers and some smoked meat ‘low and slow’ in the true network barbecue. As I have grown up, I have still visited Leeds again and discovered that I really attend to so many people if they are looking for a romantic trip with their partner, shopping with friends or even a quality time with their family.
This guide brings together several visits to Leeds over my twenty and thirty years and I really believe that these are, in my opinion, the best things to do in Leeds.
10 bright things to do in Leeds
Kirkgate market
One of the largest internal markets in Europe is here in Leeds and goes back to 1857. I love visiting markets every time I visit a new city, so I would definitely say you have to take a look to take a look here. There are several different tickets, but my favorite is the 1904 hall at the corner of George Street and Vicar Lane. Be sure to have coffee from Miles & Co and do not miss the birthplace of Marks and Spencer.

Leeds corn exchange
Leeds corn exchange is undoubtedly one of the essentials when it comes to any trip to Leeds, a non -negotiable if you wish. At the top of Call Lane, you will have difficulty losing the iconic Leeds milestone throughout its vaulted glory. Leeds Corn Exchange is a Victoriano Home building of some of the best independent stores in cities, including colors, can vary (for books and zines) and all CO blues (for vintage clothes). There is everything else, from records to jewelry, sculptures and plants, in addition to coffee and food outlets.

Hamburgers in almost famous
I am a great lover of a hamburger and I find it really difficult to go anywhere without asking for one, so it would be rude not to visit Leeds without having one of the best hamburgers I’ve had. They are so good that we are dealing with one of their famous boxes at home during the year that was 2020. The Phoenix hamburger is always a good scream thanks to the additions of Frazzles, bacon mayonnaise and Ketchup of Tocino!
Hey, if you want to see the best hamburgers in the northeast, well, you are in luck!

Head House
I make a point of visiting Headrow House every time I am in Leeds. The beer hall on the ground floor is divine with its Pilsner Urquell fresh out of the tank along with the smell of firewood that burns from the restaurant of the ox club. There are four floors here with events that take place regularly on the top floor and two roof terraces that give me vibrations of New York.

Buck Hall Café / Leeds Art Gallery
The charming coffee hall coffee is one of the most beautiful coffees that I have had the pleasure of drinking my morning coffee. The walls and ceilings are adorned, you guessed it, impressive tiles that you can admire the comfortable leather sofas. Ah, and if you fix it to take off the eyes of the beauty of this Victorian room, you will find that coffee is also good.
Whether before or after your coffee, you must definitely walk through the Leeds art gallery that is free.

Espresso Laynes
While my love for coffee is relatively new and I am certainly not a coffee connoisseur, I would say that the best coffee in Leeds is here in Laynes Espresso. You cannot miss Laynes espresso with its bright yellow exterior to a short walk of the train station. I grabbed a flat target to carry, but I recommend booking a table if you want to try the food (which looks crazy). The current menu presents Sarracene wheat pancakes, sweet potato fritters and ham potato cake, what would be the upper part of my list when considering the brunch! All cakes are made by the spinn-off bakery.

Village (Books and Zines)
In Thornton’s games room, on a skate store, there is the town where you will find all kinds of extravagant magazines and books that I am sure you will not see any other place. If you like things that are a bit different or look for a specialized photobook, you will find it here.
Ramen in the house of fu
I am a great lover of Japanese food, but I will be honest and I have never asked for ramen in a restaurant until we visit House of Fu. I guess it’s a place as good as any other to start, obviously in Japan. Next to the opening that passes to Headrow House, the design of House of Fu is unexpected in this area of the city. From the graphic of ran noodles in the windows, the blue japanese blue exterior to the relaxing Japanese interior, this is a place that attracts you. I had the spicy so much, while Emma had the rice bowl fu katsu who were incredibly good. As always, we wanted to try some different sides (obviously for blog investigation purposes), so my recommendations are the crunchy cauliflower with spicy sauce, Pickles’ house and his choice of Gyoza. There is no spare here.
For those with a more outgoing side, enter one of the Karaoke cabins above and do not miss the Snaparazzi photomaton!

Victorian arcades
Leeds is synonymous with a day shopping and is not a surprise, since there are so many high quality stores in the city. The Trinity Center is a good introduction with all its usual streets chains, but they are the Victorian arcades that you should see; Queens Arcade, Thornton’s Arcade and The Victoria Quarter. Even if you are not here to buy, you must see Victoria’s quarter. It is an architectural milestone that lies in Grade II and has the largest stained glass roof in Europe. The stores here are all high -end, including Mulberry, Louis Vuitton and Harvey Nichols.
Speaking of purchases, the nearby Victoria Gate is a new development of £ 165 million in the home of many exclusive stores plus an flagship John Lewis.

Northern Monk Refectory
Not far from the city center is the refectory of Monk Northern, the original home of this northern brewer, which has been on my list of desires for places to enjoy some beers! I have not yet arrived here, I still promise a visit, but it must be included in this list, since you will not find many better places for handmade beer.
For longer trips
If you are spending a little more in Leeds, there is much more to do, such as visiting the real armories, talking on the channel, go to Roundhay Park or check an art gallery located inside the old Tetley brewery.

Where to stay in Leeds
For me, there is only a place where I should be looking to stay when Leeds visits and that is the iconic Queens Hotel Right next to the train station. You can read my complete review here after I stayed in November 2022. There is also a Hotel Malmaison and the Hilton Doubletree That can always be trusted!
