2020: One year in review

[ad_1]

Well, where do I start? I will do everything possible to overcome this publication without mentioning the dreaded W-Word, but let’s be honest directly; It has been a year of shit, right?

Obviously, this will not be a long publication at all. Nobody wants to know how I have sat at home working since March. The blog has been in the background, I have barely published unfortunately, although I have had a lot of time to do so. There are probably many things that should have done, but, like everyone else, this year has been difficult. Very hard.

My highlights of 2020

Unfortunately, I can’t write about my honeymoon here where we had reserved to return to Australia and on the other side of New Zealand. I was so looking forward to that. I have my mind prepared to make this trip in 2022, but you never know!

Anyway, there have been some positive aspects in the year and it would be a fool not to say that. He started positively with trips to York and Seaham Hall. As with most people after the blockade, we obtained a puppy; A little Cushopoo called Chester. It’s amazing! I have developed an expense problem when it comes to Vinyl football shirts and Preston North End! I no longer like to look at my PayPal statements. I bought a speed bicycle and, for the first time from my hip operation, I started to ride a bike again. Unfortunately, I failed to break any distance or speed record. I also loved to explore more locally with my favorite trips to Northumberland and Tynemouth.

The year as a travel blogger

The best thing about this year in terms of the blog is to change WordPress to Squarespace. I love my blog design now, you feel much more professional.

In terms of statistics, in 2019 my views had massively jumped to more than 80,000. I am not sure what I am this year due to change, but I would say that it will be about the same type of figure for this year.

What follows?

The first thing is first, I hope my job begins to calm down a little. It has been relentless. I have tried to see if I could find any statistics to support the ‘implacable’ description, but the articles I have found are April 2020. All say that the attention procedures have increased abruptly due to the blockade. I can say firsthand that you have not shown any slowdown sign!

For me personally, I need to find a way to relax a little more, since the nature of my work is so consumer. I will continue to leave at the local level and keep my fingers cross to return to some kind of normality soon!

Anyway, enough of me, thanks again to all who still read my blog, especially at times like these!

Stay safely and I hope to return with more blog posts!

Jamie
