As everyone knows, I love the colors that leave directly from the Fujifilm cameras; That is why I shoot JPEG. Every two months, I will mix my fifth personalized configuration slot and try something a bit different. This time Ritchie Roesch intrigued me Kodachrome II Configuration and marked them in my X-T2.
Kodachrome II’s ‘look’ was one that I thought would coincide with the summer vibrations of a week in Crete. Clean, colorful and slightly vintage; My type of style. Steve McCurry, a brilliant photographer most famous for the iconic portrait of ‘Afghan girl’, widely used Kodachrome. He shot the last Kodachrome roll. Described that Kodachrome had how “More poetry in him, a softness, an elegance.”
Now I cannot say that my photos below do justice to this movie, but I loved the ritchie configuration and I will use them on more occasions. He feels perfect for those warm and sunny days that explore new locations. Sometimes, all that is needed are some new colors to help you see photography in a slightly different way.
I love the Greek islands and plan a quick break from the week to Crete to visit a wedding place. It also helped Emma’s family had a villa where we could relax and that really made the holidays! Since we returned from traveling full time, we cannot sit and sunbathe all day every day. It meant that we had a good excuse to explore all the small streets of the ancient cities of Chania and Rethymnon. The Venetian port of Chania is enough for anyone to reserve a trip to Crete immediately. I have visited before with my old camera and I went out with Some gems If you are looking for any #Travelinspiration.
I use the configuration established by Ritchie but without grain and -4 noise reduction. There is no real reason only my personal preference. I also use the configuration of the white light white balance with +3 red and -4 blue so that you can still use auto +1 network in my other configuration. I always look to forget again the change of color when floating between the configuration. Unfortunately, with the use of daylight, I have had to heat some of the photos of the golden hour with divided toning, this is where car would have been useful. Estimated Fujifilm, can we have the proper custom white configuration please?

After this, I make small adjustments in Lightroom using an import prejustment: +10 contrast, clarity +35, +5 vignette and a small curve S.
