One of the three large tickets of tickets along the east coast of Australia (together with the Isla Fraser and the great reef barrier) are the Whitsunday Islands. Appointed by, you guessed, good old Cook Cook, these islands are practically paradises. Navigating the Whitsunday Islands I was definitely on my desire list and one that cannot be lost. As you will see below, the best way to explore the Whitsundays is almost certain that aboard Lady Enid.
Whitehaven Beach is one of the ten best beaches in the world and the entrance of the hill dazzles with its white sands and blue sea. Everyone has probably seen the photos, but some things must be experienced in person to be really appreciated. After a lot of investigation, we decided to make a one -day trip to the islands instead of a two -day/two night trip. The price difference was the main reason; $ 200 each instead of $ 600 each. There was nothing that we were losing us in terms of places simply going for a day.
The one -day trip we chose was Lady Enid Sailing; A luxury trip for adults aboard a boat since the 1960s. The boat only takes a maximum of 24 passengers, but we had incredibly lucky luck of having only 12 passengers, including ourselves. It was a more personal experience, especially because I was chosen almost immediately to help establish the candle. If that is the correct term.
The wind was still quite strong, which made excellent navigation conditions, but it meant that the seas were very rough. About half an hour, I honestly thought I was going to vomit everywhere. There was no escape from the constant balancing movement. Somehow I passed and began to feel normal again. Apparently, the day before was even worse. All on board were sick, including a passenger who continued to vomit without control.

It’s time to explore the Whitsunday Islands with Lady Enid Sailing
Snorkel
We stopped after two and a half hours to dive around a reef right on one of the islands. As we have learned since then, snorkeling is never so impressive here. Due to the agitated seas and the recent rain, visibility underwater was lower than a few meters. The coral here is also not of the colorful variety you imagine in the great reef barrier. It didn’t start too well, since everyone really struggled to get on the boat. Emma’s turn and a great wave moves away the boat boat. The only problem is that their feet are on the boat and their hands are linked to the boat staircase. For a few seconds, she was horizontal. I couldn’t stop laughing and I have tears in my eyes while writing this now.
From what I could see, there were enough fish but not as many as I thought. I began to panic a little after approaching face to face with a jellyfish. From November to May, stingy fill tropical waters and some are able to kill a man in a matter of minutes. The beaches are full of vinegar and advice on how to take care of a victim with ‘RCP’. I have seen my GoPro footage and all that you can hear is that muttering the twin fish through my snorkeling. It is not ideal.
However, I have no doubt that with better conditions the experience of any other person would be better than ours.
Whitsunday Island
After that, we leave for another hour and a half travel to the jewel of Whitsundys; Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet. We docia in Tongue Bay, where, before Cyclone Debbie last year, it would be guaranteed to detect turtles. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any and we had to endure another dinghy ride to the shore.
A brief uphill walk and there we were seen to the rotating white sands that are so famous that you would swear that you have been there before. The moving clouds continued to block the sun and it was only when the sun hit that the view really dazzled. The blue waters were so clear that we were detecting stripes everywhere.
We did not spend much time when observing, so the next thing we knew we were walking directly to Whitehaven Beach (or so we thought). The sand here is one of the purest on earth. NASA once bought the sand to polish its telescopes. Rubing the sand in their hands providing exfoliation with which some women (and men) could only dream. I asked before if we were actually in Whitehaven Beach itself. I don’t want to disappoint things, but I began to confuse when all information signals had the name of Rayado Beach. In a signal, the name of the beach ended with a t …
Whitehaven’s proper beach is directly opposite to the entrance of the hill; On the other side of the entrance to us. The official sign said Whitehaven beach (Betty). Now I would still say that I have been in Whitehaven Beach, but I would have loved to take the official beach, but apparently all the tours stop at Tongue Bay. I thought it was a bit strange that nobody thought about this before, but I suppose that it is still the same white sand and blue seas. We still have a good time more or less relaxing on the beach. We saw small lemon sharks in the shallow waters!

Back on board, they invited us to a beautiful cold buffet lunch before leaving in the four -hour house. There was little to do apart from eating, chatting and drinking champagne that was served just when the sun began to wear. Perfection.

In general, it was a brilliant day and I can see why the Whitsunday Islands are so popular. Navigating around the Whitsunday Islands was perfect and felt like the only way it should be done. There are great potentiators that cross the islands and some sailboats that use their engines. On board Lady Enid, the ship’s trip becomes part of the experience in itself and one that I will never forget.
