I have been a Fujifilm user for many years and I have mainly used the beautiful colors that the cameras produce in the form of JPEG images since 2018. When I set out to shoot only JPEG (RAW for the backup, sometimes I am sensible), my simulation of movie number one was astia and I would only use it for my photograph. However, times have advanced, I love the most sandy side of life and that is where the classic Chrome of Fujifilm stands out for me. He has captured my heart and my color photography these days is filmed almost exclusively in the classic chrome.
This publication has existed for three years and is one of my most popular throughout the blog, so I felt it was correct to give it an update and an update by 2022.
I know that the title of this publication stands out using the classical simulation of Chrome films for travel photography. Travel photography for me covers a wide range of photography styles that include street, portraits, food and daily life in general.
I love Fujifilm’s classic capacity to turn even the most beautiful scenes completely with slightly unaturated and sandy images. I have used Chrome classic in the streets of Bangkok during the Monzón season, while wandering for Edinburgh and Cork and, demons, I have even used it in Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida …
As I said previously, now I use Chrome Classic for a wide range of themes. I have filmed food and drink for a local coffee, I took photos of my newborn baby, I covered charity events, festivals and car shows. All with the classic Chrome. Even my first paid press trip that covers a definitive guide for the Tees Valley here in the Northeast of England was filmed using the classic Chrome. You can trust almost anything (I don’t use it for weddings, but there is soon a publication about that).
So what I say is to use the classic Chrome of Fujifilm for any situation you want. You don’t have to be ‘travel’ to use it and I hope you show below how well this film simulation is adjusted to ordinary life.
If you are a Fujifilm user and you are not shooting JPEG yet, what are you waiting for? Seriously, magic will surprise you directly from your camera. Check out my simulations 2021 Fujifilm JPEG as a starting place.
** Update – 2023 **
Now I have a Fujifilm X-T5 And I have transferred all these chrome urban configurations: be attentive for an update on whether I am still so impressed by these colors!
Meanwhile, I have written some articles about the simulations of newer films that have not been accessible to me with the X-T2:

My Fujifilm X-T5 JPEG configuration
All images below use the ‘Chrome Urban’ configuration in the Fujifilm X-T2 and if you continue to move, now, now I have put the configuration in this article.

Chrome ‘urban environments
For JPEG simulation, mark this configuration at:
My photos are quite ‘directly out of the camera’, but they are very close. Always use Lightroom to organize my photo collections and so easily configure an import prejustment for my jpegs, which is simply +10 contrast, +15 clarity, a slight curve S and vignette -5. I will also deal with the exhibition in Lightroom, often adding +1.00, but just whatever adapts.
After many applications, here are the Lightroom configuration that I use for unprocessed files. I do not say that this is a perfect combination, but it is close enough, which is good enough for me:
-
Contrast +10
-
The highlight +39
-
Shadows -43
-
Black -22
-
Texture +10
-
Clarity +35
-
Saturation +20
-
Slight curve s
-
Sharp 80, radio 0.8, detail 10, masking 29
-
Vignette -5
Now, for the part you are really here, the photos. Let’s see what the classic Chrome of Fujifilm can do, right?
