On December 21, 2019, Emma and I got married in Doxford Barns in Northumberland, which was absolutely incredible. While we planned to go to our honeymoon to Australia and New Zealand in April 2020 (see how that resulted, greet the coronavirus!), We wanted to spend a few days away from five stars. We decided to spend a night in York and one night in Seaham Hall, just a quick twenty -minute car walk, which was an excellent use of those few extra days.
Seaham Hall
I think it is fair to say that Durham County does not have a wide variety of luxury hotels, but those it has are very impressive. When I travel, I love a little waste for one or two nights in a luxury hotel, but I will often combine this with a longer stay on Airbnb or cheaper accommodation. As a 30 -year -old man, I have to be honest and say that I don’t have a long history of spa use. I can’t really remember having gone to an adequate spa before.
However, Seaham Hall really stood out for me when I was looking for a special place to spend a night after the wedding and definitely did not disappoint me.
Seaham Hall is a five -star luxury hotel and spa located in the cliffs north of Seaham, approximately 13 miles east of Durham. The building itself is beautiful; Bright and modern white abroad and full of noddes both to the history of the hall and the exotic spa inside. Seaham Hall dates back to 1791 and previously was the home of Lady and Lord Byron (the famous poet).
From the moment we stopped at the hotel, we experienced an impeccable service; Even more than one would expect from a luxury hotel. I was thinking that I could get used to this lifestyle, but, unfortunately, we had only reserved for one night. My camera was not attached to my time in Seaham Hall, so unfortunately there are not many photos and I would have felt very strange to take it to the spa. You will only have to take my word about how beautiful this hotel is.

THE SUITE ADA LOVELACE IN SEAHAM HALL
As this is a special occasion, we decided to waste and pay the bed and breakfast in the Ada Lovelace suite. I couldn’t remember what the room had for us, but the goalkeeper showed me around our room. There were two floors and two huge shoes baths in the huge laurel window that is part of the 37 land acres. It was absolutely perfect. I have never really been in a hotel just to stay at the hotel instead of going to explore, but here in Seaham Hall, there is literally no reason to leave and all the reasons to stay.
Kingsize bed was probably the most comfortable in which I slept and what was even cooler was the television that came out of the bottom of the bed just by playing a button. Connect your laptop with an HDMI cable and will have Netflix all night thanks to the free Wi-Fi.
Although you have a short distance away from the spa, it would have been rude not to take advantage of those incredible bathrooms. Literally, we cool for years with a lot of bubble bath, but people can easily see through the windows!
Now you may not want to spend £ 395 for just one night with breakfast, but don’t worry, Seaham Hall has a variety of room options ranging from extravagant suites to junior and even the garden rooms with their own jacuzzis.

The spa
Serenity Spa is the Seaham Hall show piece. From the hotel, you can enter a small underground tunnel that relaxes it magically with immediate effect. They must be the soothing aromas and the drip of the water characteristics that prepare it for stress relief.
As I said before, I am not a spa man in any section of the imagination. I get bored easily and it is much more likely that you find me in the pool of a hotel throwing a ball just so that I swim after it. Well, once I put on my courtesy bath, I’m not sure what happened to me, but I loved it. The spa has a pool full of massage stations, jacuzzis, salt sauna and ice baths in which you immerse yourself among many other things. The outdoor area was surprisingly quiet considering that outdoor jacuzzis and the small infinite pool are the most prominent aspects of the spa. With the cold of January and the low winter sun, there was nothing better than relaxing in the warm jacuzzis surrounded by steam.
It is not that you have experienced it, but the SENITY spa also offers a complete range of treatments and therapies to bring experience to another level.
The food
Lunch at the O-Zone restaurant. It is difficult to miss this restaurant if it is close to the end of the hotel. The smell of the rich Thai food turned out to be completely irresistible and, therefore, in our robe (do not worry, is friendly with spa dress), we settle for a classic Thai red curry and yellow curry. Both were exceptional. The red curry not only had much chicken, but also had a country and pumpkin that I found an absolute revelation. The food was as good as I found in Thailand and I will definitely return to the restaurant even if I am not a hotel or invited to the spa.
After having such a good meal at lunch, the only problem was trying to return to the spa with inflated bells. It took me some time to get out of my food coma, but I really can’t imagine anywhere better than the spa in Seaham Hall to have a little doubt.
Our room for the night came with breakfast, so the next morning we were invited to a very elegant English and climbing and avocado eggs in toast. You also get fruit juices, cakes, toasted; Basically many extras included!
The local area
Of course, not everyone will be in the same situation as me and some will be visitors for the first time in the area who wish a high quality stay and a basis to explore Durham County. Seaham Hall is still perfect for this, since it is ideally located to check the coast of the heritage of Durham, have a Redondo Durham vagabund or even nibble Newcastle.
I really enjoyed our indulgence and waste for one night in Seaham, which was worth every penny. I do not think it has come out of such a relaxed place and I suppose that occasionally, we really should treat us some inactivity.
