Read my Fujifilm X-T5 JPEG configuration here
Well, here we are again. Almost three years have passed since I published my original Fujifilm JPEG configuration and I never waited that the blog post was as popular as it was. I am very grateful to everyone who read my blog and I hope it helps you in some way in terms of your photograph. Since the blog post was written, interest in Fujifilm in general and specifically the configuration that creates such beautiful JPEG images has increased massively. Fuji X Weekly has definitely helped with that with its absolutely incredible films simulations that you should definitely see if you have not yet done so.
In the last three years, there has not necessarily, I hate you 2020), but I have still been using my cameras almost daily. I still have the same photography style, although I have really enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone and trying to create decent photos much closer to home.
The Fujifilm Jpeg configuration in my previous blog post was my favorite in 2018 and things have certainly advanced since then. However, there are two of my configurations that have remained exactly the same; My Chrome Urban and Astia trip. However, the only difference is that practically use Classic Chrome for everything and that now proudly has the number one place in my personalized configuration. You will also have to remember, for all current readers and for new users of Fujifilm, I use two X-T2S, so many custom recipes and additional configurations are immediately ruled out for me. I keep the basic things although I would love to try the X-Pro 3 and the X100V!
While the next configuration is in my cameras at this time, this is not my final and complete configuration. I love to change and mark new recipes depending on my mood. However, me think It could have deciphered the seven perfect settings to cover as much as possible. Even better, with my two favorite configurations in position 1 and 7, it means that I can change from classic chrome to acros in the 3-press button again in just 2. My original publication contains information on how I configured my cameras, but essentially, using the D-Pad, I press at that time and the shutter in half to obtain the classic chrome to the classic and then, again, again, using the D-Pad On the right and the Shutter back to again again again again again it again again again again again again it again again again again again again again again Chrochome. I love using this in the rapid movement between color and white and white.
Before immersing ourselves in the configuration below, one last thing. I have added standard import configurations in Lightroom for my JPEGS. It is simply +10 contrast, +15 clarity, a slight curve s and a vignette of -5. So, although my images are not technically “directly outside the camera,” they are quite close.
Urban chrome
This configuration has undoubtedly grown in my favorite configuration of Fujifilm JPEG, number one, number one. Most, if not all, of my recent images are filmed in the classic chrome using this recipe. I am no longer sure that ‘Chrome Urban’ is the correct name for the configuration, since I use it for almost everything, especially travel. It is probably more a strange peculiarity that I have, but I love what does the blue skies and yellow clothes …
You can read more about the use of travel photography here.
Astia Travel
As with my classic Chrome configuration of anterior, I’m no longer sure that this recipe is called Astia Travel, but I haven’t changed it in my cameras. I really don’t use this anymore, although I’m even more than happy with the results I get. I think Classic Chrome has just taken care and produces really unique images. However, I use Astia for all the weddings I do (I did not grant so many). It is very suitable for what I find. You can find more sample images here in recent years. Looking back in them, perhaps Astia will return to the #1 position in the future. The colors are still really impressive and writing this publication actually makes me lose your filming regularly with it.

Pro 400h
With the recent interruption of this Fujifilm movie, I was interested in seeing if Ritchie had published a recipe in Fuji X Weekly to emulate this. Ritchie was of course (It is here) And, although I have not yet tried this recipe completely, I love what I am seeing, so it will definitely be a guardian. All I have changed is to turn off the grain and the noise reduction to -4 (as I do with all the recipes using the Fujifilm X -T2).
I visited the sunflowers at East Grange Farm here in Durham County recently and used the Pro 400h recipe, so I look here for my example images.

Kodachrome II
I fell in love with this recipe on a recent vacation to Crete. It is absolutely perfect for the hot summer days. You can see exactly what Crete’s Mediterranean island Miró through the eyes of Kodachrome II here.

Forest
As I explained in a previous publication, this is a slightly different recipe for me almost exclusively to use in nature due to the aspect too green. I have only used it in moderation when exploring Hamsterley Forest last year, but I really like the unique aspect it creates. In addition to the standard import configuration that I add to each JPEG, I usually cut the blacks (is that the correct term?) To add a faded appearance. My main publication about this film simulation is here.

CANSTILL 800T
This is one that I still have to try correctly. This is the Fujifilm JPEG configuration to use for night photography. I have taken some photos here and there (on trips to McDonald’s Drive-Thru, for example), but I can’t wait to explore new cities at night with this marked. Hopefully I can emulate my inner back of Jonas, whose night urban photography is insurmountable! This is Fuji X Weekly’s recipe with a slight change to the white balance temperature.

Punch acros
Those Eagle Eyed readers will notice that, in my latest publication, I used two different black and white recipes; one with red acros and one with green acros. However, once I marked this recipe, there was no other black and white recipe that I did for me and had to be in my Fujifilm Jpeg configurations collection. The contrast is simply perfect. I have used this for my trips and for wedding photography too (JPEG in black and white, raw for color). If you want to see more images, see my publications Melbourne, Manchester and London.

My Fujifilm desire list
After a few years of trusting almost exclusively in the Fujifilm JPEG configuration, there are only some things that would add/change if it could influence decisions at the top:
-
Allow users to save WB change for each recipe (wow, yes, you can do it now in the last cameras: I use it all the time in my Fujifilm X-T5)
-
Enable the easy rearrangement of personalized configuration: if you want to move a recipe from slot 4 to slot 1, for example, you should be able to grab it and move it there. At the moment, you must start completely from scratch taking a photo of the two recipes you want to exchange to remember what to enter.
-
The X-T2, and I am sure that all the newest cameras have an option for filing simulation support. A great idea. I would only want Fujifilm to be one more step, allowing personalized adjustment support. I always have raw as a backup in case later, I want to see a particular image in a different light, for example, turn black and white using acros. Imagine whether, using custom adjustment support, you could get three identical images in Chrome Urban, Pro 400 h and punch acros. Now that would be great.
I hope this update of my Fujifilm JPEG configuration helps you and if you have any questions, simply send me a comment below. I hope everyone stays safe and the fingers are crossed to return to normal soon!
