Our first rest of the appropriate city with Little Evelyn was a two -night trip to London for my 33rd birthday and there was no better place to stay than in Hxton Southwark. I love this hotel and I had to show everyone why!
In August 2022, we went to London for our first rest of the right city with our little six -month -old girl, Evelyn. We have been quite good visiting different places with Evelyn and has always been so cold, but this time we wanted to get the boat a bit and try a two night trip that involves train trips. I could probably write a complete publication and then some about the positive and negative aspects of traveling with a baby, especially to London, but this is reserved for my thoughts about our hotel choice, The Hoxton SouthwarkAnd what hotel was it!
I am always investigating the best places to visit, eat and stay and have a master list that helps plan our trips. THE HOXTON The hotels brand has been at the top of the list of places that I wanted to stay for a while and the moment was the right one to reserve the Hxton Southwark for our first trip to London since 2016. I must say that it feels a bit like a crime in itself since 2016, but since then we have been in Australia, Asia, and I had to deal with Covid-19, so I suppose it is not so bad.
There are three (which will soon be four) Hoxton Hotels in London; Our choice on the southern side of the Thames river in Southwark, the original in Shoreditch and one in Holborn. While I will undoubtedly visit the original Hoxton in Shoreditch at some point, I decided on Southwark so that its location was relatively friendly with the stroller, being an area in which I had not stayed before, as well as the price.
After successfully navigating Lincoln to King’s Cross to Southwark, we were ready to leave our bags and start our three days of exploration. We do not plan to make all the tourist sites since, although they are definitely essential in the future, it will be when Evelyn is old enough to appreciate it. There were some places that we had planned to visit, including Dishoom for a birthday meal, Little Creatures Brewery for a beer, county market to get more food and coffee of origin, I guessed it, a lot of coffee. Yes, now I am a coffee drinker.

The Hoxton Southwark
The hotel
Located just a few minutes south of the Blackfriars bridge, the Hoxton Southwark It is an ideal basis to explore the South Bank area from the Modern Tate market to the municipality. Those who travel with the children can take advantage of access without step at the Southwark station to the Jubilee line, although you will have to take note of where you can get the tube. The elevator was out of service when we visited, so we used our feet and only took 20 minutes or less even Covent Garden.
The hotel itself has 17 floors high, covered with light gray bricks and emits a real Brooklyn atmosphere with the outdoor seat areas and delicious vegetation on each side of the main door. On the other side of the ground floor you will find spaces for dinner and drink surrounded by plants and shelves full of everything I would like to have in my own home.
The reception staff was very cozy and with the standard record at 2 pm and leaves at 12 pm, it seems that this is a hotel that you really want you to stay! If you directly reserve more than 72 hours in advance, you can choose your own check in and consult the time, which is really useful.

The room
With five types of space to choose from and 192 on offer, there really is something for everyone here; Shoes, tight, cozy, spacious and large. As we needed space for a travel cradle (provided for free by the hotel), we decided on the cozy at a cost of £ 443.70 for two nights. It is certainly not cheap, but my mentality is definitely ‘you get what you pay.’ Traveling in a world after Covid, especially here in the United Kingdom, is very expensive, but happily paying the amount again to stay in one of the Hxton hotels.
The cozy room in the Hoxton Southwark It has an industrial style mixed with classic panels on the walls, marble decoration and a metro mosaic bath. Honestly, I am not an interior designer in any section of the imagination, so my description is probably incorrect, but all I know is that I loved the style of the room. The velvet head, the concrete roof and leather accents were combined without problems. My Paytner jacket Ignition directly. It was incredibly great and, with a soft cold on Roberts Dab radio, it was the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Now, before moving forward, I have to mention the mattress. Both Emma and I discovered that we sleep incredibly in the Hxton Southwark in the most comfortable bed in which I have slept. While I forgot to have a peak in what was under those cotton sheets, then I discovered that the mattress was excellent for Naturalmat. These mattresses are not only super comfortable, but they are organic, made in Devon and sustainable. It may have been a slightly driven decision, but it is possible that I have ordered the mattress for my bed at home …
This is definitely not your ordinary and soft hotel room. You will find small personal touches, such as a small guide of great places to visit nearby, in addition to some beers in the refrigerator for my birthday.
We were a little worried about staying with Evelyn for two nights at the hotel, since we had only made nights in hotels before. Hxton hotels usually seem very friendly to children; They offered to deliver a bathroom for our room for when we returned after a long day exploring (although I spent too much time at the waterstoles station looking for babies soap) and the travel cradle was provided free of charge. ‘Tiny Hox’ also just launched, where free cribs will come with an organic naturalmat mattress and for those children from 0 to 2 years, you will get a welcome handbag that includes a coloring book and pencils. It seems that the Hoxton (both in general and here in the Hxton Southwark) are really very friendly for children (in a great way, if you travel without children, do not worry about this being a nursery!) And I can’t wait to return in the future; It really makes the difference!

Albie // Seabird
There are two places to eat inside the Hoxton Southwark; Albie on the ground floor and avir on the roof.
We had breakfast in Albie on our last morning, which I would strongly recommend. The ‘eggs in your own way’ were cooked perfectly in a portion of toast of fermented dough and Emma was with the milk serum pancakes that were equally so good. It is not that a coffee connoisseur is suddenly, but I can answer for flat white here; He prepared me well for the long trip home.
We did not have the opportunity to eat or drink in Seabird, but we took some photos of the most scandalous view of London. One side you are looking towards the houses of Parliament and the other towards the fragment. The restaurant specializes in seafood, including a huge bar of oyster with many options; From Cornwall to Jersey, Northumberland to Ireland. I cannot say that I have really tried an oyster, I’m not sure they are for me, but the restaurant is very qualified, so if the seafood are yours, do not miss it!

After a lovely two night stay at the Hxton Southwark, I can surely say that, together with the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, this is one of my favorite hotels! Now I will look for Hoxton Hotels, so I’m sure it won’t spend much before returning to one.
See you soon Hxton!
