When seven grooves for your JPEG recipes are not enough, here we show you how to get an eighth personalized configuration slot in the Fujifilm X-T5!
This is not going to be a long publication, I’m afraid. Some people would probably simply give this shameless information in an Instagram story, but I need to continue publishing consistently, so here we are.
Since I had my Fujifilm X-T2, since 2016, and confident mainly in the excellent simulations of built-in films, it has only been able to save seven personalized JPEG recipes. I have never had a problem with that (except for being an odd number) and I content myself with configuring my cameras accordingly; My favorite scenario as #1, black and white as #7 with a range of different recipes in the middle. You can see my Fujifilm Jpeg configuration in my X-T2 and X100F here.
I have been using the Fujifilm X-T5 for a few months and I have been constantly changing and changing trying to find that perfect configuration to fill the seven personalized slots. As a note, the personalized configuration slots in the X-T5 are a lot, much, more than a space to save your JPEG recipes. You can change almost all chamber settings and store it in a slot before doing the opposite in another. This would work perfectly for those who use the camera in multiple disciplines, for example, change the perfect configuration for photography of sports photography in an instant.
However, I am much more predictable in the style of the photograph I shoot, so I have maintained my seven custom configuration spaces only for JPEG recipes. However, it means, and this is one of my only complaints with the X-T5, that configuration that should be a default change every time the recipe changes. For example, sometimes I will change to a different auto configuration (for example, from minimum 1/200 to automatically in terms of shutter speed) when the light falls and then I also want to change the JPEG recipe. The ISO car will return to the configuration saved within the new personalized slot that I just chosen. Trust me, it’s annoying. I would like there to be a way to delete which configurations would be excluded from the seven personalized spaces.

Anyway, enough of my groans, you have come here for a thing and one thing; To discover how on Earth you can obtain eight personalized configuration slots in the Fujifilm X-T5. Everyone may have already discovered this little ‘hack’, but it is new to me, so I am sure it will be of interest to some.
So, let’s say I have my seven custom configuration spaces full of different JPEG recipes for each one. In the Fujifilm X-T5, I have my D Law button configured to appear the personalized configuration groove menu and I just noticed that if it moves directly to the top there is a slot ‘nothing selected’. Click that.
With ‘Nothing selected’, initially you stay with a very basic flat image with nothing adjusted at all. However, what I found is that you can still mark your favorite configuration of Fujifilm JPEG (I have put my chrome urban recipe here) and keep the configuration as it changes from side to side between the configuration of the n. ° 1, number 3 and after return to ‘nothing selected’. You can’t change your name, but who cares when it works like an eighth slot?
Doesn’t that seem shameless? A really great and easy way to mark eight different recipes from Fujifilm JPEG in its X-T5. For me, this is perfect. Now I can have my 3 favorite recipes (Chrome Urban, Classic Neg #3 and Nostalgic Negtut) along with two black and white recipes, a recipe specifically for the night, something with a little less shadows in which I am working and a slot in which I can continue to change (usually #4 and it is carry 800 at this time).
If you already knew this, I’m sorry, but I don’t hope you enjoyed this publication.
