10 best restaurants in paphos, chipre

[ad_1]

Papos has continued to be one of my favorite places to visit in Europe since I was a child and I was lucky to eat a lot of food in the city. This is my guide to the best Paphos restaurants.

Ah, Chipriot food is possibly my favorite food worldwide. I lived in Cyprus for four years when I was a child, so any return to this beautiful Mediterranean island feels like returning home. It also means that I have to make sure to find the best places to eat; Nobody wants to be disappointed given how popular chipriot food is.

Recently we return to Cyprus in the Atlantic Mare Village in Paphos. As we just had breakfast, I could make sure I had tried as many good restaurants in paphos as humanly possible. Let me tell you now that there are some incredible places to eat if you know where to look. Fortunately for you, I have gathered my favorites here in this guide so you can be sure you’re going to eat well!

My favorite restaurants in Paphuos, Cyprus

Ta mpania

The first of my favorite restaurants in Paphuos can be found near the municipal bathrooms, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is a restaurant that comes the perfect lunch room bar, night dinner or just a few beers in the afternoon. We had a lovely lunch here; Pasta for Evelyn and Pitta and Tzatziki for us. I would definitely recommend eating a light lunch here next to a frappe while looking at the crash waves against the building.

Laona Restaurant

Hidden by a small side street, Laona is a hidden jewel in the old recently renewed paphos city. The family property restaurant (since 1986!) It offers a traditional chipriot kitchen cooked perfectly; The moussaka and the meatballs were sincerely excellent. The courtesy dessert was also a lovely touch.

Muse Restaurant

Muse is not just one of the best paphos restaurants, but also has the best views of the entire city and the Mediterranean Sea. Muse is above a cliff in the paphos center and the terrace is a beautiful place to relax slowly for an afternoon or to see the sunset.

Every time I have been in Muse, I have had a shake and frappe, but it is also a great place to eat. Kebab chicken, muse hamburger and salads are highly recommended. If you are willing to share, there are many dishes that you can also ask for.

Souvlaki Livadias

Again, another restaurant in the old town (did I mention how much I love the old pair helmet), but here you can wait more than a casual tea with Gyros & Souvlaki on offer. The food like this only hits differently when you are in Cyprus; This is not a ‘Kebab place at the end of a starting night’, but it is perfect for fast, affordable and pleasant tea.

7 St. Georges Tavern

Mee’s concept is synonymous with chipriot food and there is nothing better to enjoy a Mee in Paphos than here in 7 St. Georges Tavern. If you have not heard of a Mee, it is essentially a selection of hot and cold dishes; A meal in your own right. I have good memories when I was the son of spending late with my family and friends, since sparks of chipriot food dishes were brought until you could not eat physically more. 7 St. Georges Tavern was at the height of (and then some) Mee’s food memories he had as a child.

Despite Google’s opening schedules, the restaurant was not open at lunch, but you could smell the most incredible food than presumably cooks in preparation for the night. The night starts around 7 pm and I recommend booking a table. Ben is extremely cozy and sits before explaining how things are going to go: there is no menu, you can expect the dishes to continue to stop. All for an established price of € 22!

This is one of the most unique meals in every paphos and, for me, it is a must. In terms of the food offered inside the Mee, think of hummus, tzatziki, pita bread, beet with coriander, eggplants, olives, Greek salad, pork souvlaki, vegetarian moussaka, stuffed peppers, pouring cake and feta and spinach in puff pastry. Incredible! While I could not eat anymore, Emma could somehow fit in a dessert (chocolate brownie), although this was not included in the price.

Pizzeria Caliano Kissonerga

While the restaurant is in a modern unit next to E701, you can expect a newly made high quality pizza here. It was perfect for our first night in Paphos, since we didn’t want to walk too far from our hotel, but the pizzas and pasta left us speechless. I did not expect to find such good pizzas in paphos, but I am very happy to have done it! If we only had a few more days, we would have eaten here again. While I love chipriot food, there comes a time when a pizza is required only to balance.

David’s Take Away

If you are looking for an informal place to eat, go directly to David’s food to the side of the E701 road near Kissonerga. This is a local restaurant without luxuries where you can wait for a high quality fresh -quality pork kebab on the grill. We sat outside under the vine leaves during the golden hour with the view of the ocean in the background. The prices here are extremely reasonable and also have children’s options; Evelyn enjoyed nuggets and chicken fries.

Thai room

Emma and I are great fans of Thai food (I mean there can be not too many people who do not love Thai food, so when Sala Thai was recommended by friends of the family who regularly spend time in Cyprus we knew that we had to visit it? You will find that Thai room in Coral Bay had opened in 2016. As I said before Little different and really enjoyed my night eating here. obviously.

Oniro by the sea

Oniro by The Sea is a bit out of the way and is better achieved by the car; We are talking halfway between Coral Bay and Agios Georgios, but it is worth it. This restaurant serves fantastic modern food and we ask for a margarite bread and a Greek salad for lunch. All this was improved by the unique views of Edro III’s shipwreck, which is so close to the resistant coast that can almost touch it. Take incredible photos!

Kambana Cafe and Traditional Restaurant

Finally, but in no way, Kambana, a restaurant away from everything in the town of Kissonerga. When we visited, we were the only ones, but that made it even more special, since they made us feel as if we were guests in the home of the owners. We sat in La Veranda with a view to a Greek Orthodox Church and I really felt so relaxed. Emma had a clearly cooked moussaka from scratch and went by the pork chop, which was absolutely huge. We would definitely return here when we return to Paphos not only for food but also for hospitality.
