The best places to stay in paphos, Cyprus + Map

[ad_1]

Whether you are looking for a luxurious Spa resort, a place to entertain children or a conveniently located hotel that allows you to explore, my guide to the best places to stay in Paphos will help you get the best of your trip to Cyprus.

Cyprus is an ever popular holiday destination for approximately 4 million people each year and about 36% of those who go west to paphos. Cyprus offers warm climate throughout the year thanks to its Mediterranean climate and serves those looking for golden sand beaches, lovely old villages, traditional food, pine mountains and aquatic parks for children. When I say that Cyprus attracts all kinds of visitors, I say it seriously!

I have visited Paphos now for several years and I love how diverse it is. Papos presents a Unesco world heritage site with thousands of years of history waiting to be explored but manages, almost without problems, so that its historical side coexisted with its most ‘tourist’ side. So, you will find British bars and tributes of Elvis entertaining every night, but I promise that Paphuos is certainly worth visiting. It is also a great place to rely on trips across the island, such as Limassol or on the Troodos mountains.

Every time I spent time in Paphos, I have stayed in a different place, which I think helps a lot when I come to write this guide, since it can be a bit complicated to know exactly where to stay, especially for the first time, visitor. Therefore, I have separated Paphos in six different areas and included hotel recommendations for each one; Some of which are undoubtedly the best places to stay in paphos, if not chipre.

1 – Kato pavos

Kato Paphos, or Paphos Lower, is what the ‘main’ area of the city would consider. Includes the port, the castle, the archaeological site of Nea Paphuos and animated bars and excellent places to eat. If you are looking to be in the center of everything, this is the place to stay. I have extended the southeast remite slightly along the Avenue and north from Kings Avenue Mall to the tomb of the Kings.

2 – Poseidos Avenue – Geroskipou

Poseidos Avenue extends throughout the southeast from the center of Kato Papos for more than 3 km to Rikkos beach in Geroskipou. From Danea’s triangle onwards (where the Crocodile pub is), we have us Avenue becomes a much quieter road full of hotels and beach front apartments before arriving at the Aphrodite Paphos Aquatic Park and a shortcut to the Paphos airport. Hotels have called this home and is one of the most popular places to stay in paphos for a good reason. You have impressive hotels with direct access to the Mediterranean Sea and the popular activities of the aquatic port, but they are just a lovely half an hour to the walk along the ride in the paphos. Buses 611 or 631 work regularly here too and will take it directly to Kato Papos.

Most hotels here are all inclusive (some are a bit tired and outdated), but there are some bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, although the reality is central Paphos is where it is likely to go to the bustling nightlife and good food. For me, this is a great area to stay in Paphos, given the proximity to the center, but it is far enough to feel that it is not at a break in the city!

3 – Old Town

The old couple of Paphuos is at the top of a rocky outcrop with view of the gleaming Mediterranean sea. Fortunately, the old town has suffered a transformation since Paphuos was appointed European capital of culture in 2017. It is now a pleasant pair area to spend not only one or two days, but perhaps even all its vacation. You will still find the traditional market (now discovered and in small stores) along with modern bars and coffee shops, traditional chipriot restaurants and contemporary street art. Staying in the old town of Paphuos allows you to experience the traditional champion chapriot while it is only a stone shot (610 buses) of the port and all the comforts of Kato Papos.

Mespilea house | ☆☆☆
A wonderful 1800 traditional house located in the center in the old pair helmet. Wait for cozy rooms and a shaded patio.

King Jason Paphos | ☆☆☆☆
Located halfway between the old town and Kato Papos, King Jason is an adult hotel. Despite going back on a main road, this is still a quiet area of Paphos to relax.

4 – Clorka / Bessonerga

Chloka and now Kissonerga are an extension of paphos complex offers along the E701 Coast road on the west coast of Chipre. Once the shipwreck of Demetrios II passes in the sea, you will find a wide variety of accommodation with many with access to sand or rocky beaches. Throughout here, you want a hotel that does everything, since many will not have a wide selection of bars and restaurants at a short distance. I recommend hiring a car or trusting public transport to return to Paphos.

Atlantic Mare Village Papos | ☆☆☆☆☆
One of the many new hotels along the coast between Choraka and Coral Bay, where banana plantations used to be. I had a practically perfect family to stay here with our 1 -year -old son here and return safely. Good number of pools and modern rooms of ‘town style’.

STREET. George Beach Hotel & Spa Resort | ☆☆☆☆
This hotel has been beautifully renewed, although it was luxurious even when I first stayed in 2000! A private beach, seven restaurants, five bars and an impressive view of atrium make this a better choice of places of stay in Paphos.

Leonardo Laura Beach Hotel & Splash Resort | ☆☆☆☆
Perfect resort for those with families, as this comes with its own water park!

5 – Coral Bay

Coral Bay has long been an alternative tourist complex to stay inside Paphos and has a medium of pristine golden sand with smooth and impressive sunsets. You will find a bustling strip of restaurants and bars along Coral Bay Avenue that will attend to each visitor; Whether you like a sports bar, live entertainment or a quiet dinner with friends. Thai Sala in Coral Bay is one of my favorite places to eat in paphos.

Coral Beach Hotel & Resort | ☆☆☆☆☆
A charming Greek -style hotel with mature vegetation with a view to Looouu Beach and the Mediterranean Sea.
Booking.com | Hotels.com

Thalassa Boutique Hotel & Spa | ☆☆☆☆
Perfectly located in the promontory between Coral Bay and Looouu Beach but with a small pool.

6 – Agio Georgios

Agio Georgios is a hidden jewel in paphos; A small and quiet and quiet town of Puerto about 20 km / 30 minutes by car from the paphos center. The town is also the entrance door to Akamas Penisula and its raw natural beauty. The natural path of Avakas Gorge has long been a favorite walk in western Cyprus and can be easily arrived from here. There is not much through tourist infrastructure here, but that is part of its charm. You will find a quiet beach, maritime caves, some restaurants and few people to speak.

If you stay here, I recommend you hire a car to facilitate access to Paphos.

Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort | ☆☆☆☆☆
A very exclusive hotel. Ultra modern and immaculate with high standards in a peaceful location. If I had the money and the free choice of where to stay in Paphos, I would be here.
