The magic of Park Park in Tropical Australia

[ad_1]

Hidden in the exuberant rainforests of the northern end of Queensland is the most unexpected of attractions. Paronella Park is the work of the life of Mr. José Paronella, who, from 1929 onwards, turned Squubland with Mena Creek into a beautiful Spanish castle. Paronella Park is one of those attractions that really does not disappoint and is really unique in Australia. José arrived in Australia from Spain in 1913 and planned a perfect life for him and his fiancee, Matilda. Unfortunately, after 13 years working hard on sugarcane farm and climbed the stairs, he returned home to Spain to discover that Matilda had married another man thinking he was dead. The most logical step was clearly that José proposes (and married Matilda’s younger sister, Margarita, who made the trip to the unknown lands of Australia.

After buying the land, José dedicated himself to construction, mainly with his own hands, essentially a park for the pleasure of the family, friends and the general public. There was a theater that showed movies, tea gardens, a pool and tennis courts. Not only that, José planted more than 7,000 trees and created the beautiful Kauri avenue with imposing trees creating a perfect tunnel frame the Mena Creek falls. Unfortunately for man, no matter how much effort he put on, it was not always as planned. Paronella Park has resisted numerous cyclones, fires and floods with a constant and apparently endless effort to rebuild. To this day, even with the new owners, the renewal continues as well as José’s dream.

Where to find Paron

As I said before Parón It is located right next to the East Costa road between Mission Beach and Cairns and is really a must for everyone, whether they travel along the east coast complete or simply in the area for a few weeks. Condling inland from the north or south, it will join the shape of the cane cutter that makes its way through the sugar and banana plantations surrounded by mountains wrapped in the fog. The way here is worthy of more visitors in itself; Tropical Queensland Classic.

What to expect in Paronlla Park

For $ 47 per person, you get a free reign from the entire Paronella Park, as well as the 45 -minute tour ‘The Dream continues’ and the ‘The Darkness Falls’ tour, which includes a light show. Not only that, if you travel in a motorhome, it is included camping during the night, which is a gift from the absolute sky. One of the biggest stressors with the stumbling block of a road in a motorhome is to work where the hell stays every night. Along with your ticket, you get umbrella, a map, a guide of flora and fauna, markers, a memory of the park itself (surprise, now I have two pieces of the building in my house in England), as well as food for fish and turtles. It simply does not stay too close to the edge of the water when feeding wildlife, since, sometimes, salt water crocodiles have been seen in the area. This is probably nothing more to say, but no, you should not (and you can’t) swim in Parkla Park!

As with almost everywhere along the east coast of Australia, this is another place that is a dream for travel photographers. My favorite shots were De Mena Creek Falls, all illuminated at night, Kauri Avenue and, in general, any of the buildings that are hidden in the tropical jungle.

My final thought, something really important, do not forget to bring insect repellent, since there are many mosquitoes!
